Good morning Glasgow! This morning we saw Glasgow without rain - a first in the three visits we have made to this city. And doesn't a bit of sunshine brighten the place up a bit?
We embraced our cultural side, and went along for A Play, A Pie and a Pint at Oran Mor... At least one of those elements was cultural, anyway! We enjoyed a hilarious play about interpreters, cruise ships, sign language and body swapping. Just another day out in Glasgow, really. And who better to join us on our adventures than Tony and Lois? We found them at a bar, looking unnecessarily sprightly for people who had just flown around the world. We caught up on all the news of Camperdown, and went for a wander to find West Brewery, which was cleverly hidden behind a bizarrely intricate building that caught our attention without us noticing that it contained the brewery. Luckily there was a West truck driver willing to point us in the right direction! We braved the beer garden for as long as we could until the rain made its presence felt, and then had to enjoy our brews (Munich Red beer and ginger, lemon and pear cider) indoors.
Dinner was fish supper, chicken supper and haggis supper at what was allegedly Glasgow's oldest fish and chip shop. Judging from the fittings, I wasn't going to dispute this claim. We introduced Tony & Lois to the joys of Irn Bru and then finished the evening off with a wee bit more scheming and planning. Tomorrow marks the beginning of our campervanning adventure - and possibly the end of regular wifi connections! For a fortnight, at least...
